THEHOPE TEAM

THEHOPE research team is a diverse and experienced group of individuals collaborate to achieve the objectives of this research project. The team consists of: Principal Investigator (PI), Co-Investigators(Co-PIs), Management Team, Research Assistants(RAs), Statistical Consultant, Psychiatrists and IT Expert

THEHOPE research team brings together a range of skills, coordination, collaboration and expertise, ensuring a comprehensive and rigorous approach to the success of research project.

Professor Saeed Farooq

Professor Saeed Farooq is NIHR Global Research Professor and Professor of Psychiatry and Public Mental Health, School of Medicine, Keele University. He is also co-lead for the mental health and wellbeing research theme (specialist care and global mental health) within the School. He is an Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

Saeed has over 250 publications including papers in peer reviewed high-impact journals and chapters in several books. He currently leads several studies as principal investigator on improving treatment adherence, optimizing treatment for severe mental illness for improving physical health outcomes and early detection of treatment resistant schizophrenia. He has research grants worth around £10 million as principal investigator. Saeed has pioneered several translational research studies and concepts in psychiatry.

Professor & Consultant Psychiatrist

Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Khan

Dr. Abdul Jalil Khan is a Consultant Family physician with extensive experience of working in the NHS UK. He is also a Medical Educator and involved in both Undergraduate and Postgraduate training programs in United Kingdom and Pakistan. Dr. Khan has experience in designing and developing curriculum for various clinical and non-clinical courses and programs. He is an OSCE examiner for Manchester Medical School and PLAB examiner with General Medical Council UK. He assists, care quality commission UK, as Specialist advisor, assisting quality inspection of primary healthcare facilities.
Dr. Khan’s areas of interest are Diabetes, Hypertension, Chronic disease management, Men’s Health, Public Mental Health, Medical Education, Leadership in Healthcare Management and assessment of quality indicators in healthcare.
